We had a really cool breakthrough today with Zane. He has never been able to answer questions like “What did you do at school?”. I always have to find out what he did so I can ask him yes/no questions about what he did to let him know what kind of answers I am looking for when I ask the question. Today, when we were on the way home from preschool I asked, as usual. This time, after a bit of hesitation, he actually answered me. “stowwee” (story). I was totally stoked! I asked him what was the story (I knew already that it was “Pig in a Pancake”) so when he mumbles something I could tell was meant to be “pig pancake” (our car is loud, so he would have to be talking quite loud to really hear him) I was able to jump right in and be excited for him and ask if he liked the book. Then I could ask him if he had a snack, and then what the snack was (pancakes). He answered, but seemed to be wearing out so I just told him how happy I was to hear about his day and let him watch the traffic go by and hum to himself. A very neat moment.

Yay!
Good for him! You must have been giddy!
That is sooo wonderful!
