I feel like a horrible mama this morning.  I kept having to wake Zane up about every 15 minutes because he kept going back to sleep, even when we put the tv on.  At about 8 I went to check on him again, and discovered he had thrown up. He didn’t even make a sound and I had only left for a few minutes to throw some laundry in (in hopes of getting him interested in something…he loves helping with the laundry).  In that time he threw up and fell back asleep on the floor.  Poor guy.  I gathered him up, cleaned off his face and took him to the couch to snuggle with him and keep a better eye on him.  He doesn’t seem to have a fever, just really groggy.  He is at least sitting up now watching Blue’s Clues and drinking some water.  I hope this is quick thing that passes…I hate to see him not feeling well.  I am really glad I didn’t yell at him or anything, I was feeling sort of impatient but didn’t want the day to start on a bad note, so I just kept going in and doing all the little things that usually wake him up…singing, blowing raspberries on his hands…things like that.  I would feel even worse if I had shown him how impatient I was getting.  I just can’t believe it didn’t register that he might not feel well when he didn’t follow me into the kitchen this morning.

This weather can’t be helping things…it is 50 deg F one day and 80 the next…..weird fall this year.  I hope it freezes soon so our allergies quit bothering all of us.

  • You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn’t it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe. — Marcus Cole, to Dr. Franklin on “Babylon 5: A Late Delivery from Avalon”
