She got her chair from Papo and Grammie.  Now she can leave Zane’s alone.

Last night before we took her to bed she was playing peek-a-boo, looking over the back of the chair with an impish little grin and giggle.  I have to just hold that memory in my head because it would have broken the magic to grab the camera just then.

Here she is enjoying the chair

Helping Dad with dishes.  She was told right before this picture to leave the dirty dishes alone as he is loading the dishwasher.  You can almost see the thought bubble over her head trying to decide whether or not to grab the spoon.

And his head is turned and temptation is just too much

The next picture, had it turned out, was the blur of her running towards me, hands up, crying a desperate cry because Daddy caught her and told her to put the spoon back.

This afternoon while I was doing laundry, my little helper suddenly disappeared, so I peeked my head around the corner and saw this.

RYC: I never felt like it was a coincidence the way everything you need for a car to be on the road legally is just randomly tied together…they got one thing compounding after another…don’t have insurance, can’t register the car. Can’t pass an inspection. Turn in the plates or your license is revoked. It downspirals into a huge mess in a hurry just because we coudln’t afford our car ins.

On a bright note I just did Geico.com and its $50 less than we were paying per month last year for min coverage (about $105) I still think that is high for a driver who’s had a license since 16, is over 25, and hasn’t had an accident at all in 10 years. le sigh. It’s because they check our credit, which is awful. Geico didn’t check it though so keep fingers crossed for us I have no motivation to get my license because to add me to insurance would probably be astronomical.

oops I meant our old ins. was high b/c of credit checks. I wish geico was slightly cheaper than quoted but that is the cheapest quote we have ever gotten. Still awaiting a State Farm quote.

  • Some days, doing ‘the best we can’ may still fall short of what we would like to be able to do, but life isn’t perfect – on any front – and doing what we can with what we have is the most we should expect of ourselves or anyone else. — Fred Rogers
