Tonights chalk drawings by Zane

Zach drew the circle and ears in an attempt to get Zane interested in drawing instead of dancing on a chair.  So, the head shape isn’t his, but what I thought was pretty cool is the nose.  Instead of drawing a circle, he is starting to attempt a more realistic nose, drawing the sides of the nose.  He also has started to draw mouths instead of just a line sometimes.  He still does just a line, as you will see in one of the below pictures, but he is starting to move toward a more representational mouth.

Tonights mystery drawing.  We aren’t even sure what the orientation is on this (which way is up).  Hairdryer?  Airplane?

eta:  For those who don’t read comments, my Mom said it looks like the planter/bench area he was playing on today when she was watching him, so mystery solved!

And, finally, the one that made me grab the camera in the first place.  A person with a body and legs.  Yeah, you have to use your imagination a little bit, and he is sort of a cone head, but I thought it was pretty cool.

    Hi Sunshine!

I’ve got  a guess on your mystery drawing.

A lot of the time we spent together while you were at Old Navy was spent in the middle of the mall, which has a bunch of wrought Iron style fences. He liked to sit on the bottom rung and slip his head, then his body through the rungs to get to the other side. There was usually nothing particular on the other side, but he would crawl through, and then tell me he had done that. The fences were used to keep people from going between the planters. The solid parts at the ends of the ‘fence’ he drew might be the connection to the planters.

There were patio tables with pipe legs at his level, and umbrellas, and we counted the palm trees that were growing too. This was all on a tile floor, and ther was potting soil in the planters, of which he liked to grab handfulls.

I LOVED the way he snuggled with me and I actually got a couple of kisses. I’d like to believe that one of the phrases he told me (after I told him) is “I love you”. Of course, it could have been “The french fries are tasty tonight with the hot sauce”, but I heard “I love you”. <grin>

You have a very wonderful ‘little’ blessing there. I’m so fortunate to be a part of his life. I appreciate it!

    Love you!

    mom
