This was going to be a “lots of neat pictures from out on the farm” post.

This is what the day turned into instead

Out in the middle of nowhere, the tire blew.  There was no shoulder on the road so we pulled into a corn field.  The ground was soft and angled and we have crappy tiny little jack and a donut spare tire.  The spare was flat.  So the adventure began.  lol.

We did finally make it to the farm.  It was just as it was getting dark, which our camera doesn’t do well with, so I have no pictures.

My dad found another tire out there, so we didn’t have to go into town.  He also flushed and changed out the antifreeze, replaced the Serpentine belt (which was shredding), and did something else that I can’t remember.  We decided to do the oil at a later date since it looked ok for the time being.  We are going to have to finish getting it tuned and change out the spark plugs because it back fires once in a while, but nothing is immediately pressing.

  • If by a “liberal” they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties — someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a “liberal,” then I’m proud to say I’m a “liberal.” — President John F. Kennedy
